Organisation Frequently Asked Questions

NOPS is designed so that operatives can register for their own NOPS accounts by choosing the ‘Apply For A Card’ option. If you choose to register on behalf of your operatives using the same function, then please make sure that you have correct email and phone information (as the operative will need to verify the initial registration and a security code – sent via SMS – will need to be entered when continuing with the registration process). Other options for group registration may be available where the amount of new NOPS accounts to be created is greater than or equal to 20 – please email admin@smartpassport.co.uk to learn more about this. .
A Lead Organisation is a company which, typically, is able to initiate contracts for the building or maintenance of infrastructure. (Some examples in the telecommunication industry in the UK would be Openreach, Virgin, CityFibre, Vodafone, etc.) All other companies will be considered as organisations. If you are concerned that the classification of your company on NOPS is incorrect, please contact admin@smartpassport.co.uk with details.
Please use the ‘Search Register’ function above and enter the operative’s surname and NOPS number. If you have a NOPS administrative account for your company, and the operative is sharing information with your company, then please login and use the filter options to find the operative for more information.
Individual operatives have the ability to add a photo.
This is available as part of the ‘Training Update’ function. NOPS staff will need to demonstrate it to you and outline expectations in terms of diligence in presenting evidence and invoicing requests. Please email admin@smartpassport.co.uk to arrange a demonstration.

The centre where the training took place, or the relevant awarding body should be contacted in the first instance. Smart Awards will check evidence of accreditations and will not validate accreditations where the evidence presented is suspected to be forged or issued fraudulently. Training centres operating in good standing should be able to appropriately advise the operatives who have been trained there.

Initial registration costs £33.00 + VAT (£39.60) and includes the first 12 months of membership. Membership must be renewed annually at a cost of £12.00 + VAT (£14.40) p.a.
All costs are included in the NOPS Annual Membership.
Companies may make payment either by calling our office during opening hours and making a debit / credit card payment. Alternatively, if repeated invoice requests are anticipated, we may be able to offer an invoicing facility. Please contact admin@smartpassport.co.uk to learn more.
Cards are usually delivered directly to the operative’s home address within 2-3 weeks, but we do ask operatives to allow up to one month in case there are local issues affecting delivery. If your company has chosen to pay for cards on behalf of operatives and would like to receive the cards at your offices, please request this when agreeing payment.
Accreditations can expire between 1 and 5 years from the date or issue. Please refer to the issuing or awarding organisation if clarity is needed
Cards no longer need to be renewed. The operative’s membership need only be renewed annually, representing a significant cost saving.
Please email admin@smartpassport.co.uk and detail the names and NOPS UserID of all operatives whose cards you wish to be paid for. Accounts will be renewed / extended when payment has been agreed.
You can either call our office to make a card payment for the account(s) in question, or email us with a request for a replacement card. Please confirm the address that the card should be sent to and we will arrange for a replacement to be sent as soon as payment has been arranged.
